Bertazzoni cooktops and skinny cooktops

I'm getting a new kitchen counter and a new cooktop to go with it. My current counter is tile, and quite thick, so I was able to have drawers underneath the old Fisher Paykel (c. 2003). The new counter will be soapstone, and thinner. I'm looking at 30-inch gas cooktops, the shorter/stouter the better. Bertazzoni has a 5-burner model (305CTXV), with a fairly modest BTU (and low price), and a 4-burner (prof304qbxt) with a higher BTU and higher but still quite reasonable price. The first is 2 inches deep, the second 2 5/8. Either could work, with minimal adjustments to the cabinet and drawers. Does anyone have an opinion about the brand? Samples are hard to find in my town. Everybody seems to sell Bertazzoni but very few stores show them, and I'm told if something goes wrong a repair person has to come from a city two hours away. I like the look of the one Bertazzoni product I've been able to lay eyes on--an oven. The sales guy said the cook top will be similar. But I'm torn. I could make any cooktop under 4 inches high work--with more shaving down of the drawers. I’ve looked at GE/Cafes, Samsung/Dacors (seems like there are problems with the knobs and finish), LGs, you name it. I can’t work up much interest in the details, beyond wanting to be able to boil water and clean the thing. If I pitched the drawers altogether, I would have even more options. (Wolfs are sexy, in a “that’s cool, me want," kind of way. But I don't know that I need such a thing.) I like to cook--I cook every night--but I'm not a pro. I’m old. I'm cooking for one—I don't need huge horsepower. I do like a simmer option. Attaching a diagram of my situation Thankful for any advice.
