Can I achieve this look with existing stone?

Hi, we have some existing stone on our house. We want to update the look at the front house and I was thinking of putting a type of German schmear over the existing stone to achieve the look in the picture below. Would this work?? First picture is our home now and second picture is the stone look we like.

That effect is an artform. And you have to be able to maintain the finish through washings. Shop carefully for the product and painter. Ask for examples of past work for references.
