It's snowing in Black Forest Colorado! ️ One last hurrah!

And...sticking! It's a heavy, wet snow. The leaves on deciduous trees were just starting to open....and fruit trees were blooming....My Backyard. One more day....then sunshine for weeks....highs of 77F by Sunday! It's BEAUTIFUL while it lasts! Loving all the moisture.

One of my pear trees. It won't produce fruit in our climate, it's ornamental.

I remember it snowing on Memorial Day one year when I lived in Denver! To this southern girl who rarely saw snow growing up, it was magical! Hope all of your plants survive!

Wow. You must really love snow. After we get one snowfall here in NJ, I'm over it and want warm weather. Actually, if I never saw snow again I think I'd be totally fine with that.

It is pretty. In pictures ;-)

My area is at 7600', high up. It's snowing above 7000'. Denver is getting light rain @ an elevation of 5280', the mile-high city. They're 50 minutes North of me. Golden is 5675'...light rain too. Sherry, BOTH are beautiful Colorado towns! Years ago...I communted to work in Denver for 3 years. My father used to work at the country club in Golden, The Club at Rolling Hills, he managed it.

    "Snow in May. Ugh. "

No hot flashes! 😂 We've had snow in early June before. Just a mile away...there's NO snow...just light rain and a 10degree warmer temp.

My son went to Boulder forcollege. One day they would be dressed for blizzards and the next in shorts. The lack of hunidity was nice, though.

    Very pretty photos, nicole.

We could use the moisture here, as well. ( Alberta) It’s warm and breezy but I’m enjoying the long days. Daylight until almost 10 pm. 🤠

Nicole, he and his SO girlfriend have not been out of north AL. He is 22 and I am so happy for them. He will be a manager of a restaurant in a town next to them. He was a manager of the same chain here.

I could live in Colorado! My hubby just got back a few days ago from ANOTHER fly fishing trip there. It's so pretty year round and the summers there are great-especially summers compared to where this Okie lives. We'll probably be there again this summer sometime.

@roxsol....10pm! Wow! Sunset is 8pm here, but being overcast, everyone is driving with their lights on.

@Sherry8aNorthAL....Buying property around Golden will set them up for life! The real estate market is very good in that area!

@dedtired...We lived in Boulder, 2nd, 5th & 6th grade. I have a LOT of memories of living there. The guys here wear shorts, hiking boots AND down parkas! Looks pretty silly if ya ask me, but...it's a local clothing statement about our weather. 😂

@OllieJane...Colorado is just so pretty! So many outdoor things-to-do. We have two trout stocked ponds within a block of my house. Turtles too!

I think you're built for that climate. And I love to see you enjoying it.

I could never. But I'm sure you would be miserable here, where it is so humid...

Different strokes for different folks. It's so beautiful and thank you for sharing.

Nicole, send some up to Steamboat please! We need the moisture! There is still plenty of snow on the mountain, but we are having an early and fast melt. The creek behind my house is at a level more typical for June.

@rob333 (zone 7b)...We're not likely to move, Hubby is a native of Colorado. I do really like the decorating show Christina La Moussa does in Nashville...but...not planning on moving there. Just admiring her work. She is A M A Z I N G !

@mojomom...The weather report shows snow for you on Wednesday. Rain on Friday, Sunday & Wednesday. It's coming your way!

We have snow on Mt San Jacinto above 9000 feet, but the last snowfall was only about 1 to 2 inches. We did have rain in the valley last weekend.

I remember seeing snow on the mountains in New Mexico north of Santa Fe in June, which was shocking to me. That was when I was 14 and was the furthest north I had ever been, until I visited San Francisco at 22. Most of my travels have been south of Texas.

Last dusting of the season! When we had a second house in CO (8600+ ft), it snowed one July. Crazy. One thing about CO winter snow vs the South, even when it 's cold outside, the air is so dry it didn't feel that cold unless the wind was blowing.

So pretty Nicole. Thanks for sharing that postcard-view. I can understand why you love it. We had a perfect 70-degree day here and I cannot complain with all the spring flowers blooming and everything a nice green.

@Sherry (my North AL neighbor), hope your grandson and his SO enjoy Colorado. An exciting adventure for them.

My first friend from age three grew up splitting each year between our Chicago suburb and a ranch in Wyoming. She became a commisioned glass artist while living in Colorado. She'd complain that nearly every year her fruit trees would bloom, only to be shut down by a late freeze. Lost her to a gioblastoma.

My DD's husband's family now lives in CO. They sometimes go for a visit in the summer and the pics they send are spectacular. I would love to visit one day in the summer.

In college, I visited Arizona at Christmas time. I remember lying out in the backyard tanning in the beautiful warm sunshine and seeing the mountains in the distance covered with snow. I thought that was wild.

    Love it!

I have a friend who lived in Kittredge and was an elementary school teacher. Several years ago she sent me a photo of the snowstorm outside her classroom on the last day of school. A few years ago her husband tried to go skiing at A Basin on Fourth of July and the traffic was so bad that he turned around.

The great thing about a late Colorado snowstorm is that it often melts and evaporates the next day.

I would love to live there IF I COULD BREATH! LOL, I was there 2 years ago & could not walk a half block without being totally winded. It is supposed to be 100 degrees here this coming Wednesday. I just hate Texas summers that start in mid May & finish in mid October. We have fall, winter & spring from November thru April.
