What would you call this decorating style?

I normally love color and pattern but have been staying in a hotel room that just feels so serene to me. Trying to decide if I could work with things I have to replicate it. Is it transitional?

    That green is so lovely!

    Yes, I think it’s transitional.

It looks pretty traditional to me—- the heavier millwork, shutters, classic shape of upholstered headboard, all white bedding. The only thing transitional about it to me is the tightly controlled color palette, which is more standard for hotels than homes from what I have seen personally. One feature that doesn’t quite strike the right note to me is the leather chair and ottoman. It’s the right color, and undoubtedly the right choice for a hotel, but a softer fabric (maybe velvet?) in the same color would be a better fit.

I think it looks restful, which I think hotel rooms should be and frequently no longer are.

Those light greens are spa like for me. The plantation shutters give a coastal vibe.

    It looks traditional to me.

Pretty room. I would probably say transitional - I think some of the silver toned frames and mirrored/silver lamps are skewing it that way to me vs strictly traditional. And the big chair seems a tad "off" for the space.

It's in that transitional/traditional realm to me. How do your architectural features compare? It's one thing to bring in the colors and maybe some of the decor, lamps, upholstered headboard etc but if you are working with less light, simple window/door trim and no stacked crown it's unlikely you will get the same vibe.

Kendrah, you are correct, I asked for label help for search purposes.

My particular hotel room doesn't have the leather chair but my room isn't pictured in the website. I agree that it seems a bit off.

We do have good molding in our house and a sisal look carpet that will work. But the more I look around the hotel room, I think I'll have to change almost everything else to get the same vibe.

Here is the hotel gallery if anyone is interested. If you're visiting St Simons Island GA I highly recommend it. The room is immaculate and the property is charming.

Traditional with a little lamp bling! It's lovely! (I saw a mercury glass -silver lamp)

I'd say any bling = Hollywood Regency inserts....

That is a pretty little hotel and great location Dee! We love that area of the coast and almost always stay at the Jekyll Island Club on the other island, mainly from force of habit.

Kswl, we always loved Crane Cottage! We haven't been for years but we have fond memories of Jekyll.

It looks like the B&B we stayed in on Key West last fall. Nice, but that chair is wrong.
