More spring flowers in an extra rainy season

We are still getting lots of rain. We are over 240% of the yearly normal! We are double for May so far. Wonderful for the flowers. Don't like mowing so much. I'll take it over drought any day!!!!!!!!

Here's some flowers:

Iris-Sea Swells. Generally a poor performer, rarely blooms but loves the rain. One plant bloomed.

Iris City Lights. Moderate performer.

Comfrey surrounded by Red Raspberries. Later in the summer you will hardly see the comfrey as the raspberries win, which is fine by me. I have a lot of red raspberries, 2 crops. Yum!

The irises are so pretty! We've had rain here too, but not nearly as much as in KY.

Lovely iris and the last set looks like siberian iris. We too have had plenty of rain along with frequent thunderstorms. Not complaining as the plants love it. I too have spent way too much time mowing vs gardening.

Same boat as Brad. Lots of rain--day after day. City Lights is a looker. I am always frustrated at how little bloom there is on the iris here--even those plants in full sun. Some varieties bloom well initially, but then never again, even after laborious division and rhizome trimming. Probably, as with daylilies, some don't like our climate.

I think your assessment may be true in all climates, Mantis. I often see the same here. Yet, I almost daily pass by a deserted house whose previous owner (who passed several years ago) had wonderful iris and many of those remain and bloom in great clumps of blooms with zero care. Unfortunately, the heirs do not live here and have no interest in the home or gardens. Maybe we pet ours too much!!
