Mont Blanc Quartzite Island Slab, Leather

Looking at this beauty for my island (not counters). Leather finish, which I love. My question if anyone has seen or has had this: that gorgeous crystal river running through most of the slab has a few very small (maybe 1/2 dime size at largest) areas of pits. They are smooth edges, which seemingly (to me) says they have been that way, not getting bigger. Fabricator offered to fill them. I actually like the raw look. Anyone have these have any thoughts? Or any pro on here have any thoughts? On this and in general for this much crystal running through the slab. From all accounts of my research, the crystalline actually makes the stone even more hard? Color off in photo, I had to brighten it as the sun was behind the slab, so not great photo op.

Hello! good morning!

We love this type of stone, the color is beautiful and it would be the centerpiece of your home, the small pits that you mention are not a problem, i would have the fabricator fill them, the only thing that worries me is, if maybe the stone has too much absorption, that could lead to hard stains and hard to clean because of the small pits, but you could ask the fabricator how the stone behaves with heavy liquids like coffee or wine. its a beautiful piece and we love the raw finish too. I hope we could help!

I hope you did your research and didn't just go with "pretty".

We have leathered quartzite with a white crystal running through but it is smooth but still, in my opinion, dramatic. You might consider looking for a smooth slab. I would think you might have trouble with cleaning that textured portion.
