I would typically paint it White along with the trim but if you look at the mark up The trim around the door is the same color as the wall and that looked interesting to me so I wondered if I should Just paint door Gray and maybe the trim around the door but then would it look strange if I did the trim on the floor white

Is the door a good quality wood? If so, you might want to leave it alone. Would recommend that you paint the casing around the door the same color as the baseboard. Would actually recommend that for all the trim in your room. As it is now the door and window trim might as well not be there being painted the same color as your walls.

There seems to be a trend of painting molding and walls the same color It's reading about it and looking at it so it was something I was considering

I also saw a photo where the trim was all white but they painted the French door in the room the same color as the wall Which was what I was thinking of

I say all trim white and door white to match. It'll pop better. It's a beautiful door to show off.

Patricia this is my space it's not finished yet. If I take a photo now all you will see are unfinished plaster walls and the brown door. The mock up was to give an idea of the door in the space once the walls are grey. The rug is not blue but it's not down yet. and the desk is light in color right now it's in another room. It seems the consensus is to keep the door same as the trim all white.
