Help create “end” for wallpaper using trim

Hi! Decided to wallpaper this foyer entry wall. Need it to end on the main wall and have a 2” sliver at the top where it continues around the entire “atrium” foyer.

Was going to just use the same trim edging that’s on the stringers. Realize there will be a sort of ledge atop & will have to do an angled cut on the left so it has a finished end, though. Felt it was the easiest and simplest solution - also because I have a small scrap piece already. But before proceeding wanted to see if there are other genius creative solutions here that anyone might have.

I have no clue what you are asking . I see no wallpaper so that is a must to understand how to lay it out.

Hi. Sorry for any confusion! I’m saying that we will be wallpapering this wall in the foyer entry. It sort of wraps around the path of the staircase to the right. The red box is where we will wallpaper but in the blue circle the wall technically has not end. I’m asking to help create an end there, so the wallpaper can stop, as otherwise it’s a continuous expanse…

My first advice is to not wallpaper this wall but I know that won’t stop you. Just cut the wallpaper in a straight line- it will be much more subtle than adding the moulding.

Thx for the reply. May I ask why your advice is not to wallpaper?

Wallpapering random walls was an hgtv idea that should have died twenty years ago. It is finally dying now with the whole feature wall overuse. If you want wallpaper do wallpaper- wallpaper is awesome! But don’t do one piddly triangle.

why not paper the whole wall? over the door opening ... so the whole room/foyer is considered a room.

Well it’s an open atrium 2-floor foyer and wasn’t wanting to do the full expanse. The wallpaper is quite a neutral color & design that blended well with the white/gray that’s already on the walls & trim. I was just wanting a little pop and extra detail on that wall as the goal I to hang artwork there.

    This is the wallpaper

Just hang your artwork. This paper adds nothing to that triangle

THat would be a no then . Silly place for any wallpaper if you want a bit of an accent maybe a wall colr in the whole entry .

Yes to the trim you show that matches the trim on your stairs as a location to stop your wallpaper. My only thought is why accent that area? It looks like an area that does not need to be accented as the stairs is the accent and adding some artwork or family photo wall on the stairway wall should be the accent.

Read @ Hallett three times, every comment.

It is just a really dumb place for a paper, ANY paper.

It adds nothing. Hang art and call it a day. Something other than harsh gray black white would be nice.......: )

The "genius, creative solution" Is NO solution but let it be what it is. A place for some art. a small ROUND beautiful table, a table LAMP as a welcome, versus the cold glare from a dangling two story foyer light?

    Thanks all for your thoughts!

Either you wallpaper the foyer or you don't.

Are two story foyer's expensive to wallpaper? Yes they are.

Do small patterned get lost in large rooms? Yes they do.

Find a different solution for adding some pizzazz to your foyer.
