As is, your plantings under the bay window look random and spotty. One of this, one of that, plopped here and there. You need some cohesion.

Are you an avid gardener? You like to fuss with your plants or just look at them? You like flowers or just greenery? Make sure your landscaper keeps that in mind as s/he reworks your beds.

Also, I’ve learned that sometimes landscapers overplant because the more plants you buy the more money they make. Guard against that! Overplanting gets out of control in a hurry and then your beds just look like a messy jumble.

And make sure the plastic is completely removed from the bed before renovating the planting.

Is the landscaper going to design then install or just install whatever you want? A picture from farther back & that shows the enire front of house will help with suggestions. What direction does house face? Do you have inground irrigation? If not, do you plan to ask landscaper to install at least a drip irrigation in front planting beds? That would allow you to remove the hose holder. At the very least I’d suggest a design that allows the hose holder to be hidden. I agree with littlebug, allow space to grow between plants - overplanting just makes work pulling out too crowded plants & pruning. Mulch the beds to fill the space.

The renderings show how a well tended garden bed is really the key. If new plants are put in and allowed to get rangy and the soil not kept fresh you will be back to square one.

A few plants are thriving now, so plant more of those. Pots are better grouped and yes, plants sometimes die in them so replace the plant. If you have no green thumb, a hardy groundcover is a good idea.

Oops, I suppose the landscaper is gone by now. Please post after photos of the new plantings, that would be nice.
