Suggestions on Kitchen addition layout?https://www.houzz.com/style-ins

We are planning an addition to our 1970's Cape Cod style home. The addition will be off of the backside, first floor only and hope to include a kitchen/dining combo and primary bedroom. I have a blank slate which is awesome, but limited on size. We need to maximize space for sure.

I currently have a U shape kitchen that is approximately 9'4" by 17'4". the 17'4" will be the center and the 9'4" will be the sides of the U. The "bottom" of the U is what will connect into our current space (large living area, currently kitchen + small eat-in and living room). This addition will be raised 6-8" because of the requirements in our area from FEMA. This bottom portion of the U will likely have a tiered countertop and no uppers.

The island I am planning will be 84"x36", to give enough space

for a 55x32" table behind it, on the left side of the addition. In the back left side of the dining there will be the door into our primary bedroom.

I want to maximize windows, so hoping for french doors (which we currently have). I have plenty of space on the backwall and am planning on placing the dishwasher and sink along the 9' portion, then placing the oven/stove on the 17' section with the fridge to the right of that, followed up a small corner walk-in pantry extending 39.5" out on either side and having a 24" door. The only wall I want to place uppers on is the back 17' wall. This looks out to our side yard where there isn't much going on and is tight to our property line (not trying to be looking directly into the neighbors space). Our backyard goes much further back and that's where I want to maximize is the windows.

Any ideas or suggestions you have would be great! I have ton a few kitchen renovations, but always on a tight budget and never a home I planned on staying in for long. While we are on a tight budget, I want to make sure we make the smartest decisions for functionality. To give you a bit of what I currently have in my kitchen... it's all original except for the applicances. Extremely small U shape, I have ONE 9" drawer with a 9" cabinet and ONE sink base cabinet. One 24" upper, a blind base upper, and a 12" upper. Saying this because anything would be a huge upgrade for me! haha. Don't need bells and whis

s, just want max function.
