How do I finish off this living room area?

I would like ideas on a media console to put under the TV (style & color). The sofa is blue with mostly recliner seating but I'm wondering if I need to add a Coffee table? Ottoman? Any other ideas appreciated. Floor is hardwood-walnut. Walls are SW macadamia. Thank you!

TV console look for a narrow wall mounted one in wood similar to floor. It looks like everything would be too tight with a console on the floor. Yes, a coffee table would be nice, but you will have to move it whenever anyone wants their feet up.

A thin/narrow TV console would work. Love your matching pillows. Perhaps a nice big basket under the window for your blankets and so on. Or, a plant.

Skinny ledge beneath the TV in a color close to your mantle. Don't think a coffee table works with foot rests popping out.

You can install a floating console under your TV in a wood tone that coordinates with other woods in your room. What I notice is that you don't seem to have any lamps but cannot see from your pictures where it would be possible to place some.

If your sectional reclines, you possible able to have a not too large but not too small rectangular coffee table, I'm showing a glass & black metal one.

You have too many small items on your mantel, 3 items would be sufficient for the size of your mantel.

I'm also showing how to place accent pillows on a sectional. If you use feather inserts they can stay propped up instead of laying flat.

I'd select a wall mounted media cabinet for this room. Check Wayfair & Amazon.

I think your choice are area rug doesn't fit with the architecture of the space. The floral pattern makes it a bedroom or playroom rug.

Thank you. I am looking at wall mount units because the television is mounted low. It's harder to find larger sizes (TV measures 66") The colors in the rug make me happy and add some color to the room (it's pretty dark in the woods :) I can't embrace the accessible beige/gray trend.

But the blue and the beige stone really begin to set the color scheme for the room.

When budget allows, consider changing the rug, some great examples shared by @BeverlyFLADeziner to better complement the fireplace and wood tones in the space. The current rug could maybe be used in a bedroom. You have pillows that add nice color, and you could get more pops of color by adding a nice blanket throw on the sectional, and a couple pieces on the TV console and mantel. Perhaps consider a great looking piece of art for over the mantel that brings you joy in your happy space.

If those who use the sectional prefer to be reclined a lot, consider getting a couple of those C-tables so can easily reach drinks, etc.

IMO when time and money allow get rid of the dark recliner sofa if you want a coffee table you cannot recline DO a nice combo of sofas and chairs so much nicer . You need a cabinet under the TV and is this the only space you have for TV? The rug seems to be an afterthought and a bit girly for the style iof the sofa . The FP deor syas country but nothing else is thta style so maybe share your idea of style you like too. Your LR looks nothing like the stuff in your idea books ?????

Thank you. The sofa would not have been my first (or even 5th) choice, but I finally caved to my husband's desire for something "comfortable" That is the only wall for TV, as the only other "wall" is 12 feet of windows. The rest is open to kitchen and open to entry/downstairs to finished basement. I havent made any idea books for this home, what exists is for two (maybe 3?) previous homes.

Thank you SO MUCH! The above photos are just what I need to be able to visualize how the room might look. I just dont have that ability :( . My current flowered rug gets mixed reviews, but the colors make me happy and the background of the rug brings some light into the room. Definitely don't want anything to make it darker. Thanks again.

The front legs at least of your sectional should sit on the rug, not cozy up to it.
