I think the new dining room rug would go really well with your LR rug. I think that’s a good choice. I’m no designer though. What will you do with your current DR rug? Use in a bedroom?

Can you please post photos with more of the surroundings shown. Hard to provide any answers without more context.

I actually o not like rugs under DR tables and too much of a good thing often is too much. I do agree we need to see the spaces ideally in shot that shows the LR and DR together .

Any other thoughts? I'm still wondering if I should stay with the dining room rug I have, go without a rug, or get a rug like the Afghani rug I provided a link for above. P.S. My friend is herself a fan of having no rug in her dining room, but she thinks I have such an expanse of wood in my "great room" that a dining room rug is probably a good thing.
