Can I use miracle grow tree spikes for small green giants?

I have 3 green giants that have been planted for 2 or 3 years now that just seem to be growing very slow. I want to use miracle grow tree spikes, but I see the directions say for a 4ft drip line to use 1 spike. These 3 green giants are only about a 1ft drip line, maybe 1ft-6in. Will I ruin them if I use 1 spike for each since the directions do not reference anything smaller than 4ft drip line?

If you have them, grind them up and spread them around. If you don’t have them, don’t buy them as they are a waste of money.

Any kind of all purpose granular fertilizer.

You've put enough nitrogen fertilizer on that lawn to take care of both the grass and the trees.

Wait until next year after the GG roots have expanded before adding anymore fertilizer.

My question to you is whether you untangled and spread out the root ball when you planted them. If not, that would explain why they're not growing.

I agree, anything that might be keeping those 3 yo transplants from growing isn't lack of fertilizer.

Root (ball) problems would be the most obvious thing to check.
