Opinions? Advice on Front Walkway Pavers

last month

I added pavers yesterday and not sure if I should add more. Any ideas on what I should do with the strip? Or just leave it as is? (before photos so show the slope at the bottom of the driveway)

Any advice is very appreciated 🙏

I'd mirror the plantings on the other side. If they are mature, you can divide them, giving you free plants and the assurance that they will be exactly the same cultivar.

I think the diagonal placement seems awkward for stepping - a bit like hopscotch. I would arrange them squared up with the driveway and place them closer together, add at least two more rows side to side, so it is a generous space for walking. You can probably get another row in, top to bottom, too. Maybe think about adding some larger, rectangular pieces for easier stepping.

It looks like you need more pavers. Since the lawn in the strip doesn't look too happy maybe you could alternate paver areas with planting areas filled with a ground cover. We had this at our house but replaced the pavers with crushed rock to tie in with the rest of the yard.

It's nice to see a front yard with some interesting plants in the beds.

Just turn the pavers square and add another row horizontal and one vertical (make it bigger). Then pressure wash all the sidewalk and driveway areas. A light application of liquid fertilizer to the strip area will perk up the surrounding grass quickly.

just fill in the rest for a completed sidewalk. Mud and dirt is not a positive.

powerwash the weeds and dirt out of existing walk and plant a creeper to fill in the bare spaces.

The strip has a ton of weeds and very rocky soil, so slowly pulling them out and putting in ground cover and grass. Thank you for all the comments

The pavers need to be squared off and as wide as the seams in the pathway and more of them in so 4x4=16 pavers total.

You need some edger board along the curb like you have for the lawn or the dirt will just keep spilling over.

I would top off the entire strip with a light layer of potting mix and add a clover/grass seed mix that will green up the strip and fill the gap between the pavers. Clover is mowable and fertilizes the grass. Very hardy.

Address the front walk and steps where there is major settling. Clear out the dirt and add some QuickCrete.Treat the original concrete so the new will stick to it...read the instructions.

Settling of concrete walks is typical in older neighborhoods so not unusual, but this is a trip hazard that can be easily fixed.

Asphalt cold patch also works, I used it on concrete cracks and uneven pavement. The city came by and did the same thing on the uneven sidewalk but sprinkled sand on it before it dried to camo it. The sell bags of it at the hardware store to fix potholes in a driveway.

Ditto, that what you have is not functional for walking, and not sustainable as to erosion. Several good suggestions for filling out.
