Can’t decide on a color for engineered wood floors—any advice?

last month

I've been deep in floor research mode lately, and honestly, it’s overwhelming 😅

I find engineered wood flooring truly appealing—it's structurally stable, resistant to warping, cost-effective, and easy to install. Lately, I've been looking at Vellichor Floors' Prime series, but I'm really torn between the VC308, VC306, and VC303 options. I quite like the grain texture of the VC308, while the VC303 has a bright, airy look. The VC306 and VC303 have very similar colors, and all three have excellent texture quality. It's such a tough decision!

Which color do you think looks best?

If you've used any of these shades before, I'd love to hear your thoughts or see some photos!

    VC303 and VC306 are both European Oak - which I prefer. VC303 is 1/8" thicker than the other two - they all have 4mm of veneer on top. They appear to be a medium quality engineered hardwood based upon the specifications.

    I would want to purchase a box of whichever flooring you like the best in order to see the true variation of the planks. Sample boards may look very different + the color lot# will be different.

    I don't personally know anything about Vellichor flooring - it's also very hard to select a color over the internet. My screen shows some pink in 303, some gray in 306, and quite a bit of yellow in 308.

    What style house do you have? What other colors are you using in your home? Wall paint color? Cabinets? etc.?

    Maybe someone who has personal knowledge with these floors will see your post and chime in with an opinion.

    Weed it down to 2 and buy a box of each and lay them out in your home. The samples are tough to go by as the lots can be different. And a sample is too small to truly judge by.

    @James

    Yes, it does have a subtle gray tone — that’s actually what I like about 306 too! It feels modern yet still warm. 😊 The brand is Vellichor Floors — I’ve been looking into their Prime series. So far, the textures and finishes look really promising! If you're curious, you can check out more details on their website.

    Thank you so much for the thoughtful insight — I completely agree that it’s hard to choose flooring based on online samples alone! I’m leaning toward VC303 right now, but seeing full planks would definitely help.

    My home leans transitional with light, warm neutrals. Cabinets are off-white, and the wall paint is a soft beige, so I’m hoping for a floor tone that adds subtle warmth without going too yellow.

    I’ve also found Vellichor Floors to be quite promising — their Prime series especially caught my eye. If anyone has experience with their flooring, especially these models, I’d love to hear your thoughts or see real home photos!
