If you're going to buy another micro, they are inexpensive, do it now. I use a airfryer/toaster oven, Ninja, and didn't replace the micro. It gets used 100x more. The range oven never gets used.

Glass doesn't shield microwaves ... obviously, as cooking can be done in glass dishware. The mesh provides shielding. However, it's reasonably not considered safe with broken glass, or the mesh exposed such that it could be damaged.
