In the Hosta Library it says the leaves are “irregularly misted and streaked with white.” Also indicates that it does

best in shade. In the Zilis Hostapedia, he says that the leaves turn to mostly green by midsummer. So I think you have

a combination of both of those happening. It’s leaves are meant to be irregular by nature and as the season goes on

it seems you will see more darker leaves.

When you post, it’s always good to know what growing zone you’re in or what big city you are closest to. Where you live makes a big difference in hosta growth and conditions.

There is no reason why this shouldn’t perform nicely for you. Have you checked your growing zone since last year. The US

updated the zones. I went from 5b to 6a and I’m wondering if your zone was updated as well. Most people on the forum

went a zone warmer.

No it shouldn’t. You are a bit warmer now (as we all are). If anything, the winters should not be as harsh on your hostas.
