It is fragrant, Vaporvac. Not intense, but also not subtle.

In the year+ that I’ve had the three I have not any blackspot on them, dianela. It’s very disease resistant.

Just so everyone knows.. I’m part groundhog, Here’s the hole I dug for the three of them. I even punched through the asphalt surface of the freaking driveway that runs through my yard the first time I dug the hole 20 years or so ago. This time I enlarged the part above the asphalt a little, and refreshed the soil.

I wish I had planted them a little farther apart, but they should be ok with some interior pruning. Anyway, I give this rose two thumbs up.

dianela7, to answer your questions .. yes, I have blackspot in my area and even in my yard, but Sweet Spirit is unaffected. It’s also maybe a dozen feet away from a large rose that had a mild to medium case of blackspot, so that helps. But honestly I think I could plant this right next to the affected one and not have to spray it.

Another fan of Sweet Spirit. Mine came from J&P as a mistake and I like it better than I liked the original rose that I ordered. Grat pop of color, long lasting blooms and very healthy.

I’m impressed with the gigantic hole you dug! I hope the soil is softer than what our native soil is here. I use my pickaxe for almost every hole I dig.

I don’t want anyone to think you have to dig monstrous holes to get a great performance out of this rose . It would do just fine in a more conventional hole. I’m a bit OCD. 🙂

I like this color a LOT. It is basically the same color as Hot Princess (which I have several bush's of). With it being very disease resistant, I might need to find a few spots in my garden for it.
