Roof shingle or the gable end shingles? What is maverick brown siding?

  • last month

Roof shingles and the Maverick Brown siding is Norandex.

what brand shingles will you be using?

Do you already have a roofing contractor? what brand do they use?

I would pick a solid color that is in the browns and matches your siding in color as close as you can get. No architectural shingles on your house, it will make everything look too busy, just standard regular type shingles.

Driftwood in my opinion, but have the roofer pickup a bundle of your two best choices and lay them out on YOUR roof. Do not go by computer monitors, images, or samples boards for the final choice.

Driftwood would be my choice too, however millworkman is right, what we see on our monitors may not be what you are seeing in person, so pick up a bundle or two of each and lay them out on your roof, and look at them with your siding, etc.

Yes, all pretty pictures. But you need to see the materials in person in your space with your light to make the final decision. No one here can with absolute certainty select what will work best. And none of us have any skin in the game. If we're wrong, then what? I guess you don't have to pay us, LOL.

All the major roof manufacturers have 'roof visualizers' that allow you to upload a pic of your home and try on different roofs. Take advantage of the feature.

From the photos Pewter looks the best but you have to see the actual, shingle colors in person in your setting. Do you have a lot of shade? Or direct sunlight? It changes the look of shingles.

Thanks everyone! We plan on getting shingles to look at in different lighting conditions before choosing. As I have learned from the siding it looks totally different under different lighting conditions, sometimes brown, sometimes greyish brown making it hard to match. I appreciate your opinions.

Good luck and let us know what you pick.
