I have a 5x8 hooked wool rug in my back hall that has taken a beating from my dogs and traffic from the patio. I’ve tried shampooing, using enzymatic cleaner for dog accidents, and took it outside and cleaned it with rug shampoo and a pressure washer. I let it dry in the sun for several days, turning it over periodically. I can still smell it a bit when it’s humid, just enough to gross me out.

I’ve seen several brands of washable rug, all with mixed reviews. I also might consider an indoor-outdoor rug, but the ones I’ve seen up close are not very attractive. Any thoughts?

Current setup. I can also buy another rug just like this one, it’s still available and I like it.
