What a lot of wonderful clumps! That is one of the best clump shots of Entwined in the Vine that I've ever seen. Sugar Magnolia does make a pretty clump, and your Breathing In Snowflakes has good color. I grew BIS in a pot, and the color was always very light. Sun Dazzle is a pretty yellow. Are Doctor Handsome and Game Day new for you this year?

Fabulous! I hope to get my EITV back to that form soon! Love Sun Dazzle and Contact High is lovely. Sugar Magnolia looks good and mine is beginning to bloom. Thanks for it! Mean Green can be a standout! Great post. It’s the most wonderful time of the year in the gardens!!!

Thank you, Debra. Dr. Handsome is new this year along with a lot of Davisson daylilies. Game Day was new last year. Neon Flaming, Sabine Bauer, and Roman Cohort were all moved to the Puppy Garden this year. This is the first year that Roman Cohort has rebloomed. Entwined in the Vine is such a pretty one and Sugar Magnolia just looks as if it poses This as been such a fun year that I need to make sure my plants are getting more water. The are more intense and more of them are the touted heights this year.

Kate, it has been a fun year with so much blooming this time. Sun Dazzle has been a very successful yellow with so many blooms and it is a nice tall one. When I pick off blooms I really appreciate the tall ones because bending so much makes for a sore back.Mean Green is such a good plant. I still don't see why it didn't get the Stout. This new red one, Party Pants is doing so well for a new one. I did read she said it increase rapidly which is also good.

Very nice pic of Lovestruck Linda. What is your evaluation of Game Day so far? How is Breathing in Snowflakes compared with, say, Davissons? I know you don't like to rate cultivars. Contact High is a Michaels--I wonder how you ended up with it.

Thank you Mantis, The blooms are a full 10 inches and it stand at or a bit above the 38 " it is supposed to be. The scapes are strong and need no help remaining straight. It will have three blooms tomorrow and I will see if there are any changes in any of this. It is just the 2nd year but I am pleased with it so far.

What a glorious shot of Entwined in the Vine. It obviously likes your garden.....Sugar Magnolia had been one I loved to see since Debra had it many years ago combined with Shelby. It looks great for you too.....I like that paler yellow one Sun Dazzle. I can see it high lighting the other colors in a group........How long does it take you to deadhead a thousand or so daylilies? That would wear me out just in itself..............Maryl

Thank you Maryl and Julia. Maryl, it takes about two hours and it is very wearing but the pictures are so much better. I was lucky in the placement of Entwined since that area has some sandy soil unlike 90% of my clay garden. Ans Sugar Magnolia is a plant that just comes out looking pretty day after day. Sun Dazzle was one of the first yellows I got to give its highlight to the garden and it was a lucky one.

Thank you Julia. You are right and the bloom season is unprecedented. Kate is having a fabulous season and she was lucky enough to have rains while my garden was in drought the last winter, so her plants look lovely too. We live in side by side states but she is a bit north of me but not terribly so thus our seasons are off just a bit. I am so glad Bob Marley is doing well for you. It is such a bright cheerful color.

Mantis, If you see this, I measured Game Day and IT is 48inches tall! and today's blooms are 11". Very impressive. It was very tall with large blooms last year, but not this tall and only 10"" blooms. Bre3athing Snowflakes is a nice plant and does well here but it does not compare the Davisson plants in my opinion. It is much shorter than any Davisson I have. I got Contact High from Elaine Seifert and she praised its height which I agree with and the blooms are delicate and a true pink without any yellowing. Admittedly it has had larger numbers of blooms this year but it has always been satisfactory. I aplogize for not answering all of your questions. I have to admit, I probably prefer Judy Davisson's plants to most any other although there are a few other hybridizers whose plants I really like.

Wonderful clumps, as usual! I dug into Love Struck Linda this spring, it probably won't make much of a show this year. It was amazing last year, as yours is now. I was planning on getting rid of my Sugar Magnolia, it just never met my expectations. Last fall I decided to move it, and so glad I did! It has branching and bud count I have never seen on it before! Despite being moved. I hope it is not all due to the rain and one time thing. Great post Kay

Beautiful clumps! Fried Green Tomatoes is my favorite today along with Sugar Magnolia and Entwined in the Vine. Bob Marley always puts on a show too.

Thank you Nancy Graham and Nancy Watson. Nancy G IT is so odd when that happens, you have one that is doing nothing and you move it to a place that seems no better and wow! It explodes. Sugar Magnolia has always been a beauty here since it settled in, but I moved Catastrophe Waitress and it seems much happier. Go figure.

Nancy W., Those all Ones that I really like. FGT didn't do well last year but it is back to par. I am looing forward to actually seeing the new ones bloom but it should be nextyear before that happens. I do have a number of newbies yet to bloom.

I am in awe you of deadheading 1000 or so plants! I have around 200 and rarely do the whole thing. Your Sugar Magnolia is a wonderful clump. It makes for a great plant to cross with. Breathing Snowflakes and Love Struck Linda are very pretty. But then, so are the others I've not named!!!

My peak is usually the first week of July, but I suspect it will be next week instead. The owner of the local garden I went to a couple of days ago said this was the earliest she's ever opened here garden. She keeps it open for a month, every day!

It is hot here now too, and the rained stopped starting yesterday. Most of my plants are really thriving due to all the rain.

I have killed my sily back deadheading, Brad but it makes so much difference in the photos. I am past the peak now but there are still may blooms and I still have at least one more to bloom for the first time ever as I added an awful lot of new ones last year.
