It's very Montana-ie for MN. Someone could make quite the Airbnb out of it. One would need get 5K a week to make the mortgage, year round and that's not going to happen there in MN. #2DD did an internship in Brainerd. It's hollow all winter and buggy summers. Doesn't say if it's being sold furnished. It would need to be.

The lot is stunning. Alas, I find that style of architecture, esp. in a huge modern home very silly. Like Epcot or something. An original cabin, humble in scope, can be lovely. This, no.

It would rent for probably at least 10x that per week in high season. based only on my knowledge of in season rents here. Maybe even more, I did not count the beds. And rarely does a property's rental income fully cover its costs.

@RNmomof2 zone 5 - It appears to be held in the name of a corporation affiliated with the late Irwin Jacobs. That explains a lot. Very, very wealthy - he shot his wife then himself in 2019.

His main house? Not sure if he and his wife had two or if family tore down one to build the other after they died.

The MN house looks like it belongs in MT. I bet it had amazing sunrises/sets. It just looks like its trying too hard to be luxury-rustic.

There are so many lake homes of this style in northern MN that I've never thought of them being Montana-esque. I've never wanted a full log home for myself though they're nice to visit. Too much interior wood for my taste - I like wood but more on the ceiling and floors only, not every wall surface.

Some of the cottages seem pleasant enough but the main house seems an overwrought pastiche. It doesn't look "real".
