What I bought in Paris

Okay, the June What to Wear thread quickly got out of hand for me to follow, so I just decided to start a new thread. Honestly, I was more interested in shopping with my eyes due to their larger budget, but I did pick up a couple things. Only two secondhand because of size limitations. Spending a full day at the huge flea market was glorious…and this chair from a gallery in the 6th would have a place in my house for sure!

The most fun thing I bought were these maryjane sneakers that I kept walking by in the window. they had three solid colors and a check….I could have bought all of them!

These two were thrifted from true kilo and charity shops. The suede shirt is italian and just like butter. Planning to shorten it by cutting the bottom (no seam) and using some of that to lengthen the sleeves. The white tank looks more southern Italy than Paris to me.

Moving on to Monoprix - the French Target! They have decent quality fun things at good prices I stull have a t-shirt from 2008 that has ”I love my shoes” written over and over. In addition to the stripe pants, I got a pair in black. Quelle suprise!

I also got some silk satin ribbon to use as straps to take the fabric from this 2001 skirt and make a top. It was the most expensive thing on my trip next to the shoes. And these cute labels that will probably sit in a drawer or go on my inspiration board.

These fun recycled plastic bags were in stores all over. They remind me of the bags I used to buy in Mexico.

Lastly, skincare. These two treatments for roseaca are not available here. They're fantastic and now that I found a sunblock that is light and gentle, I’ve changed over to Westman Atelier. foundation and it love it. The lip balm is Greek and lovely.

That’s it. Nothing too exciting. Did see a Chanel 2004 print handbag in a window of a closed store. Luckily it was closed, but also I wouldn’t have spent the money.

What fun! Thank you for sharing your finds. I love that chair! Can't imagine trying to get it back to the States, though.

What is the sunblock, if you don't mind in giving a mini review. Traveling to Paris and onward in August and starting to make my beauty shopping list.

I can’t imagine getting my money out of the United States to buy the chair.😂

@RNmomof2 zone 5 there are two concentrates in the photo. Both for roseaca. The spf verson is slightly thicker and more opaque, but still light enough for the Westman oil tint foundation to go smoothly on. I use the other one at night and in a short amount of time, it’s quashed about 80% of the redness.

Thank you for sharing, your finds look great. You are so creative!

Also, I checked out the website for that shoe store. Swoon! (Psst, Mtn, they have leopard print loafers that look like tortoise shell.)

We bought clothes in a Monoprix many years ago! DH wore the sweater he bought for at least 10 years, I think, until it finally got too raggedy. I remember also buying a sweet blouse for DD, who was maybe 10 at that time. It was handed down to a neighbor when she outgrew it.

Looks like some fun shopping. Do you have a way to get more of the sunscreen and lotion when you run out? It would be so frustrating to find something that works so well and not be able to get more of it. I love the chair.

Fun purchases (noting those Avene products for next trip) and those totes are especially cute. LOVE the chair - how tempting was that???

@lascatx there are a number of websites where you can get French pharmacy stuff. Also I bought three and will keep them in my wine fridge. Also, I’m past accomplishing more countries and more into visits. So I’m sure I’ll be back before running out.

Love all your new clothing items Spanish! That new Chanel blouse will be fabulous!! Especially like the shoes and striped pants, both of which look very comfortable.

It’s shocking the things European pharmacies sell OTC that we cannot get, isn’t it?

1929, sounds like you have a plan. DH bought a bottle of an antiseptic spray he really liked when he was there for a month on business and sliced his finger. When our son traveled through on a choir tour, DH asked him to pick up another bottle or two. That's going to have to hold him for a while.

I also be in France this summer. Spanish, for the products you mentioned, will they be available in a regular pharmacy?

@ratherbesewing yes i got them at City Pharma in the 6th which is now a zoo, thanks to social media.

There’s supposed to be a better, less crowded large pharmacy in the mall at Les Halles, but I did not go there.
