Painted house Peppercorn // door colors to help

last modified: 22 days ago

Painted house Peppercorn and do not like, sometimes look lava, sometimes brown, sometimes charcoal (should have gone with Wescott Navy). Had wanted bright door but now feel yellow clashes, blue is too dull - (not interested in black, wood, or muted light colors). Hope to change landscaping, house numbers, light etc.. Thank you

I like the color but the landscping is all wrong, the garge door needs some windows and a new front door would be nice and no storm door to hide the new front door . After that any color you love will work for the front door. Mow the grass ditch the big shrubs and do some nice beds on either side of the walkway and some foundation plantings

Paint the storm door the same color you choose for the entrance door.

Love the above color suggested, could even go a shade darker. I think you need to change out your storm door to a full glass storm door, to show your door, so the paint color can be seen much more easily. Yes! You need to update your landscaping.

Thanks everyone so far!! Will get rid of storm door altogether and plant to get rid of those yew's/shrubs as well (lawn mowed :) As noted above, I do think the color Rain goes well, but I do not like muted/pale colors like that. Suggestions for something more bold. Thank you.

Charlotte's Lock - Farrow and Ball, I'm sure other companies make something similar. Their description: "This deep and dramatic orange is particularly spectacular when used in small areas with a sharp contrast either in All White or Black Blue."

I like that it is a reddish orange and doesn't shout orange.

Sorry the house color is not as you'd like. You've done a fantastic job of making solar blend in.

The Tomato Red of your lawn chair is very attractive with the house. It's not red red...has some orangeish in it. Would allow terracotta earth tone pots., or black

Paint the garage door to match the siding if possible. Black downlight, white house numbers.

    Rough sketch:

Oops, I was editing my sketch while someone else posted an orange hue. Mine is more intense but same idea. I like the Peppercorn. Maybe just trim the bushes away from the porch rather than remove them.

so much better not having a white garage door, but I don't think I can handle any more of this color!!! Sadly, not for me. Thanks, love the rendering, will consider red

    Teal?

I would like a nice brighter teal on your house, and I would keep the storm door. Its there to protect your door from the elements. Personally, I would leave storm door white, but, you could easily paint it the color of your door, if you wish too.
