The area is 6 feet deep and 37 feet long and I initially planned to mass plant grasses but I realized the snow blower would probably wreck them in the winter. So now I’m thinking some type of juniper that doesn’t get hollow in the middle as some do and one that’s particularly weed suppressing. I’d prefer an evergreen so I don’t have to mulch it once it fills in. But one nursery man recommended grow low sumac and I’m open to that sort of idea too though that seems like the type of plant that looks better with trees emerging from them at some interval distance.

List of possible junipers are gray owl (do blue ones tend to not perform as well?)
Green Sargent
All gold or gold star
Parsons (maybe too low?)

Maybe blue Hollies as another option, though they get browsed by deer they do recover well.
