Planters for in front of home

As you can see from the picture- the front of our home needs some help with planters/decor. I would love some “big” pots with a variety of plants but not sure on the size. Also would love some ideas for in front of the window.

Black frames on the windows could be a good change.

What lalagirl said. Your sidewalk is too small for planters, let alone big planters. You could either set the planters strategically in the ground or just plant in the ground.

I can only see one planter fitting on the walkway tucked into corner next to garage.

Another option is adding one on each side of the garage doors.

Given how barren the walkway feels (and you were already landscaping under the window), if it were me I’d extend down the walkway. Sort of like below: left side planted to complement under window (ignore the right side as your garage is there). The curb appeal will be increased substantially. Head to your local nursery with a picture of the area and they will help with height variations and combinations.

I agree no space for pots but a nice bed under the window and some plants along the walkway but to be the biggest issue id the front door it does not do a thing for the entry it looks like an interior door not a nice entry door with some glass .

Celery has given you a nice visual. I would take that and run with it.

Those perfect round balls in celery's visual are really easy to photoshop in, very tedious to keep neat and trimmed in real life.

Wide planters would probably not work but some tall ones in the image @maureen suggested would be your best option. Maybe a nice door wreath too?

Definitely some low growing shrubs under the windows like azaleas, something that does not require a lot of trimming. Maybe a tiny window box like planter with a trellis for a flowering vine on the wall beside the sidewalk. A saturated color for the front door and wreath for a little more color.

I have no problem with planters on both sides of the walkway. I'd get ones as wide as the columns and as tall as the visual line of the bottom of the front door. Plant something with height. Could do a tripod with flowering vine that grows up it. Then fill in the base with other flowering plants.

Brown planters if you want them to blend in. Black if you want to look more formal.

@BeverlyFLADeziner - You crack me up. They ask for planter suggestions and you tell them to get black windows! You can't unsee what you see.

Not only are the round balls easier to photo shop than maintain they aren't a healthy way to grow shrubs. Am I seeing brackets on the garage wall for hanging plants? That maybe an easier way to go if the walkway cannot accommodate pots. Dimensions are really tough to guess in pictures. Taller skinnier appears to be the way to go.
