Need help with living room furniture design

We just bought this house and I would like suggestions as to how to re-design the layout and upgrade the furniture for the living room.
We would like to add the frame tv over the fire place.
ex: should we buy a smaller sectional, round coffee table, curtains, change paint color, etc.?
