Hi guys, need to replace roof. Can only choose from Owens Conning. Current roof is Driftwood. I am thinking WilliamsWilliamsburg Gray, Estate Gray or any other that you recommend from their collection? Would love pictures! Thanks 🥰

Use the OC Visualizer Tool to try on different roof colors.

I did that but their tool shows the colors way too dark!

Based on your photos (which can be iffy!) it looks like a medium gray would be nice with the brick. I’d stay away from shingles with too much variegation that can look busy with your brick. Can you have the roofer bring samples to lay out for you?

    Medium gray similar to these…

the Williamsburg is too blue. everyone chooses gray, be different.

I would choose the Teak or Brownwood something that looks like wood shingles with some variation, not just a dark solid. so when you decide to paint trims or other siding, the brown tone will compliment any color you choose.

... you didn't say what style of Owens Corning Shingles

I love charcoal roofs on houses with your color brick. Look for some that do not have a lot of variegation, because, variegation, can look very busy with brick.

I believe it is "Owens Corning".

Owens Conning was conman that swindles money from unsuspecting Houzzers during the beginning of the 21st century.

Not the Driftwood based on those examples. The grays look better. However, the photos are likely all deceiving. Get some shingle samples laid out at your house so you can judge more accurately.

The availability of Owens Corning shingles varies by location. The following Owens Corning gray shingles performed well overall as shown in the the Cool Roofs Directory:

Personally I like brown color (like a Brownwood) but whatever you decide have the roofer layout a bundle of each of your last two choices on YOUR roof. I would never make a final decision on a sample board or a computer rendering.

I've been considering some of these colors for my house (warm red brick and gray/brown dormers). Unfortunately, I found the color visualizer to be very off compared to samples. I ordered some of the poster samples from the website, and they were somewhat helpful. I was able to pick up some actual samples for free from a local supplier (recommended by my roofer, who also offered to drop some off), which I found to be the most helpful.

In the end, I've decided to go with Williamsburg Gray. I personally don't think it's blueish at all. Estate gray has a slight greenish tint to it, at least on the poster. Below is a photo of the posters for both colors (Estate Gray on the bottom left and Williamsburg Gray on the bottom right) and then the actual shingle sample for Williamsburg Gray on the top.

Lauren, in those samples I can see the green in EG and the blue in WG. I don’t see blue in the actual shingle sample for WG.

Hi Chloe - the top right is the actual shingle sample for Williamsburg Gray, and the bottom right is the poster version for Williamsburg Gray. As you can see, they look quite different. I don't have a shingle sample for Estate Gray.

They do look different. The actual shingle sample for WG not only looks both less blue, but also less variegated.

@Lauren Briere thank you so much for all the details. i actually did the same and had our roofer drop of real samples. Williasmsberg gray is definitely the winner in my eyes as well. Just waiting to schedule now! Best of luck and please share a picture once done.

I think the gray can work but I really dislike white with brick so I would be choosing a color for that as I choose the roof color . Sorry but thta white just is garish on a really lovely home . This is my fave for a brick home it just works so much better than white and then a darker brown or gray can work for the roof .
