Definitely no shutters if you want ”updated”. Unless you are in a hurricane zone and it would make functional sense to have functional shutters. Other than that - imo, your house will look like a Little House on the Prairie cottage with shutters. But if you want that look, go for it and consider adding a white picket fence ( I am not kidding :).

Other than that, I would say leave out the shutters. You have a great start with the absolutely fabulous door color. I would just focus on landscaping. Landscaping and lighting. That would be everything for your house. Simple, modern type of landscaping.

No shutters but echo that dusty rose in the landscaping. Get some larger evergreens for the corners of the house and lower growing ones under windows. A good mix of bulbs,mums and annual flowers could give year round color to the beds.

I think paint the siding a nice soft sage green and forget the shutters . I agree the landscping needs some work

I just think your siding should be less yellow. I can see the shadows from where the shutters used to be, but I agree with the other commenters, this house doesn't want shutters. I don't know which type of siding it is, but if it's not time to replace it, look into whether it can be painted.

The style of your home does not call for shutters.

Agree no shutters (hopefully you can address the shade difference where the old ones rested). Given the siding’s color, the orange brick and roof, would you consider repainting your front door as I think the house overall would benefit with another color.

HAHA Read your title and knew the answers you would get long before seeing your home. If you need shutters for storm safety, then go for it! Functional shutters are always good.

I'd go with a brown that goes with the brick. Find some impatiens in dusty rose and plant a lot of it in your gardens. It provide filler while your planting grow in, match the door and look really great.
