I have quite a few other photos - but it's not letting me post them - not even in a new comment. I'll have to figure out what's wrong and post later!

My zinnias need to be pruned - but I haven't been feeling well (but I like how the colors look!)

Too much shade and a small lot translates into few flowers. However, the oldest of my staghorn ferns does its best to impress.

Not traditional flowers, but they grow well here:

It doesn’t look like much yet but any flowers at all make me happy.

This is a tough landscape to get rooted in.

    Such gorgeous blooms everyone!

Daylilies have been blooming great this year but their peak is over.

I found this variety of Monarda and decided to try it. I love it.

I always enjoy a what's blooming thread. Not much color in our yard as in past homes.

I always plant this in my great grandmother's pedestal planter. This was planted recently, as I lost the 4yo plant last winter. Blooms all summer.

Also blooms all summer. Slightly mishapped after a harsh winter a few yeara ago, but sending up new growth this summer to fill in.

The cats love it too. Great place for bird feeder watching and napping.

Have agapathus in two small patio pots. Both sent out one bloom so far. Wish they lasted longer. .

I moved this to a shadier spot and it is much larger now, bloomed once and is now spreading. 3yo plant. I also have a few tucked underneath trees along driveway.

Cannot leave out this palm tree. It sent out now fewer than six this summer.

DD2 have been planting zinnias seeds the last 3yrs. Two new colors this summer. Peach and dark purple.

She makes two bouqets a week. One for home, one for her office.

They are my very favorite flower. That peach and purple combo is so pretty.

Zinnias are my favorites, dahlias I love too but they are too complicated for me (storing tubers, etc).

I love zinnias - but I've heard that they are very susceptible to powdery mildew. I am new to growing them. Should I be doing something not to prevent it from occurring?

@marilyn_cn - I'd love to grow some water lilies - how difficult is it to do? Do I have to have an elaborate set up? The one you posted is so pretty!

We have a plumeria that just had its first blooms -- very much like arcy's but opening one at a time. First time it has ever bloomed, so I'm just happy to see them and know what color it is. We have a smaller one that may bloom next year. I need to take stock of what else is blooming. We've been having rain nearly every day for a while, so I haven't been in some parts of the yard lately.

Dani, she had no issues in previous years but this has been an extremely wet summer. so only time will tell.

Lascatx this plant is two years old. Last year it bloomed in October!! The blossoms opened one at a time. I am thrilled they last long enough to be opened together.

@dani_m08....Marilyn grows the lilies in galvanized steel water tanks, she buys at the feed store or @ her previous place in cement tanks. @marilyn_c..Hey girlfriend! 🥰

Did someone mention Plumeria? This one is not evergreen at this house but it is in full bloom right now.

Last year a stem broke off in a storm. I picked it up and stuck it in a pot next to a dying plant.

    Here it is blooming away.

I have not planted any flowers or done my hanging baskets. Maybe if the temperature breaks a bit I can do them this week. Edit: I also had an infection on my finger mid-May that took awhile to heal, so digging in dirt didn't seem like a good idea, even with gloves.

OTOH we are starting to get things in our containers. Banana peppers, Ukrainian purple plum tomatoes, and what was supposed to be more banana peppers turned out to be these cute mini purple bell peppers.

My garden is "under construction" but these daylilies are blooming now, and I have a bouquet on my nightstand, too. The color is so much prettier in person... almost salmon-like and less yellow-y than in the pic.

A few years ago, I needed to fill some space quickly. A woman nearby was dividing her hydrangeas and selling small clippings for $5/each on FMP. Here are $25 worth about 4 years later. (There's a big weed in there that shot up while I was out of town last week that I need to get to.)

I planted Becky daisies a few years ago, and the rabbits ate them up. As I was walking through my yard this morning, I spotted this random growth... they look like mini Beckies. Perhaps the bunnies felt guilty and decided to "transplant" through natural means?

I looked it up...pickerel weed. Pontederia cordata, good for water gardens. Good for butterflies and dragon flies.

I ordered a dozen Regal Lilies. THIS is NOT a Regal Lily.....? The flowers are tiny and the stalk is 4' tall. It's hard to tell in this photo...but...the whole flower bunch is the size of a baseball. Looks like a Martagon lily....? The stalk is 1/2" thick!

Better late than never. Finally did some planting. I was out super early but it was still so incredibly humid. Bought these fun flamingo skeletons from Etsy to go with the black cats. Shipped from Canada but arrived quickly. Pike’s had vinca for 99 cents on clearance. Everything was very picked over as far as selection of other plants. The hanging basket was on clearance at Walmart for $10. I also did some containers on the deck. Haven’t taken photos yet. I love the idea of hydrangeas in containers. Need to try that. I think there were some on clearance at Walmart.

I grow water lotus and they have done very well this summer with all of the heat and humidity. It has been staying in the 90s and that is when they are at their best! They love the heat but aren't tropical These are grown in tubs on my driveway that are kept full of water. They grow in soil at the bottom of the tubs. These big ones are growing in kiddie pools because of their size - they are for my enjoyment. The smaller tubs with dwarf lotus growing in them get sold at a farmer's market every Saturday during the mid summer.

From this morning - the flowers are very photogenic!
