Ask for some photos without the chairs, upload one or two to google image search, see what turns up as a similar item. Looks 1990's to me.

Thank you, and of course I am aware that it is only worth what someone is willing to pay. I already did a Google search and received several Italian manufacturers names. I have written to them. Probably, the most helpful suggestion was to be careful with the vacuum. I would be most appreciative if someone could help in identifying the Manufacturer.

I can't help you with the manufacturer or value, Everything I see to compare, is much less bulky.

If it were me, I'd buy it. If you've spent this much time on it, you know you want it.

find some slim, lightweight chairs to work with it, for me something much lighter in color and style. even a light leather.

I would try reaching out to a furniture sotre/ designer that handles all glass tables. They will have better insight. Does the seller know the manufacturer? I bet there is some sort of marking on the bottom of the legs or on that metal band facing towards the center of the table.
