Hello! Deck composite input needed

last month

Hello! I am in the process of selecting a composite for a large two tiered deck and dock in my back yard. I am looking at Timbertech products. Color is the problem. I like the Timbertech Advanced PVC in English Walnut, Timbertech in Dark Oak and Timbertech Dark Roast. My house in a ranch style home clad in Grey Cedar Hardy. Any thoughts on these colors and how they appear. I am also doing a KeyLink Horizontal Rod Rail to complement horizontal railing in side my home

Want to mention that my flooring inside the house leading to the deck is a medium brown honey oak. I know I can't match that and probably wouldn't want to. My fav is the English Walnut but it has hues that I'm afraid will look too pink

In order to get people to comment you have to post pictures of sample deck boards against your siding.

Yes you need to post photos. I have timber tech dark hickory and it’s been great. I also like that it doesn’t have a fake wood grain, just a brushed finish.

    The English Walnut looks great.

natural dark brown will compliment any color siding. I don't see how it looks pink.

The dark hickory is far too hot for barefoot (south side in Georgia). My yorkie loves it and positively cooks himself on it before running inside to cool off.

all three brown tone colors look great with my medium gray cedar style Hardy siding. My concern was the hues in the English Walnut sample. . Another one I liked a lot, which was more of a brown/grey is Timbertech Dark Oak.

You can order samples from Timbertech - I have some on the way right now. We saw the colours on display at our local Home Depot as well. For us, the English Walnut is the top contender but we will see when the samples arrive if we think another colour is better.

Other brands on display were Deckorator and Trek. Timbertech colours were the nicest in our opinion.

I think the English walnut would pair very nicely with your siding colour.

Not sure this is the exact colour of your Hardy siding but I think the walnut plays well with any grey.

The rule looks clear on paper, but the way it’s applied really did vary for me between Oregon, Washington, and Delaware. I ended up hiring Lifestyles Outdoor Living (the TrexPro team from Vancouver) to handle the install on my deck. They didn’t just advise me - they did the work: they mounted the gate at the top, set the swing to open outward, added a proper safety stopper, and cut in a small anti-slip landing where the approach was tight. On another site with a steeper slope, they installed the gate at the bottom instead and built a textured, non-slip platform with a clean threshold so it passed inspection. Both installs have been solid and safe in wet weather.
