Exterior Home Colours: Dutch Colonial

We are in need of an exterior update!
A new roof is going on both the garage and house within the month and so we are going to paint the siding and trim - question is, what colours? We would like a modern yet classic look to keep with the age of the home. The windows will stay, therefore the 6 panel white trim will not change.
I have taken a picture of the newly constructed flagstone steps leading to the front door (for colour purposes). The magnolia trees and pee-wee hydrangeas are white blooms.
We are excited to hear your ideas and suggestions for colours on roof, siding, trim, front door and garage.
