Sautéing Utensil Recommendation

When sautéing vegetables, etc., what utensil do you use? I lost the tool I’d used for years and can’t find an exact replacement. The closest I’m seeing is a slotted ”Spurtle”. Surely there’s something better. Dishwasher and nonstick cookware safe would be a plus.

TIA

I use a silicone headed scraper-spoon-spatula kind of thing. Sometimes they're called "spoonulas". I have a solid one and a slotted one. For something saucier, however, I use an old wooden spoon with a thick edge. It also goes in the dishwasher, but I use eco-friendly detergent pods, not anything that could harm it. So much is personal taste. I've seen people use a narrow, stainless fish turner. Some people use a light weight pan, and just shake the pan to do the jumping. I have small hands and that doesn't work well for me--too hard to control. I've tried a wooden spatula thing, made for the purpose, but it felt all wrong, Too wide, too narrow an edge, grip in the wrong place, etc.

I'd suggest going to a kitchen store --if you don't have one, maybe plan a stop when you're travelling-- and try out how different ones feel in your hand. Pick up a pan and put buttons or wrapped candies or something else clean and unobjectionable in it, and give the a good stir and a jump. Try scraping the sides and corners. Nobody knows better than you what you'll really like.

I have a silicone spatula exactly like the ones in carol's last photo. I use it for everything.

For anyone who has ONE-piece silicone spatulas like red one posted above, and if it’s been through the dishwasher, please taste it and report back. Preferably with brand, if it doesn’t taste bitter and gross. TIA!

Silicone spatula or tongs. I had a favorite wooden spoon but it broke, the others do not feel as nice.

A flat whisk seems to be the closest resemblance I’m seeing. Anyone use one of those?
