I have distressed wood floors throughout my first floor and on a spiral staircase going upstairs. It's beautiful and I have no plans to change it. I have to redo the flooring of master bedroom which currently has carpet. I am thinking of putting in hardwoods which leads to my question. I am interested in same color but making the bedroom floors less distressed (light distressing is fine). Will that look bad? I could just do the same distressed look but I would prefer less distressing (actually smooth wood would be great but I want it to look pretty seamless). The master bedroom is down a hallway that leads only to the bedroom. The distressed look isn't the current trend and I would prefer a smoother bedroom floor. But, as I said, the current distressed floors are pretty and I have no plans to change them.
