BPA-free plant containers are widely available at Home Depot and Lowe's....at least in my area. Don't know why they wouldn't be elsewhere. Not necessarily very colorful, though.

FWIW, most sources do not express concerns about possible BPA contamination or safety issues growing edibles even in containers that are not BPA-free. Your choice, of course.

Yeah, big box stores that carry pots usually have some that are PBA/###. 18 gallon Rubbermaid totes are too and come in a bunch of different colors- I think orange, purple, and black are out now, with red and green coming with the winter holidays. I've seen folks have pretty raised bench style planters, and windowboxes can be used too.

What you want to grow will impact the pots. If you want a big tomato, get a 10 gallon pot, mini tomatoes and peppers can go into 5 gallon or maybe less if you really keep up on the tending. Want taters or sweet potatoes, you are better off with a tote to grow in. Herbs can go into all sorts of sizes depending on the herb. Greens can go into various sizes depending on the greens.

It's really easy to make a plain black nursery pot or 5 gallon bucket colorful. Paint them. Or if you don't want to do that, you can find some colorful outdoor fabric and wrap the pots in that.

I use planting bags for veggies and more colorful pots for flowers but really line any pot with a PBA free liner and you can use whatever pot you want
