Where's the cheerleading squad? I'd be very tempted to use them as pom-poms. I just recently discovered there are red flowered Hydrangea.

Red Beauty Hydrangea. It's hardy to zone 6. Maybe it could handle zone 5 in a sheltered location? It's so intense that what could it be paired with? Doesnt really need any companions.

rouge your photo reminds me of a supermarket here with a sloping, slightly winding, long driveway. On the esplanade in the middle they have these hydrangeas. It's quite a nice planting, as is yours.

Red Beauty and other pink, white, blue, purple and red Hydrangeas are a different species, H. macrophyla, from the H. arborescens shown in the OP. They flower on overwintered old wood which means they are iffy in cold winter areas.

oooh mark your calendar to go back when those are in peak bloom next year. I've never seen so many together.
