Your existing floor looks very much like Bruce Prefinished Oak Flooring

Measure the width of your planks and see if one of these prefinished oak samples doesn't come pretty close to what you already have.

What is the room adjacent to the wood flooring that will have carpeting replaced? The room function can have an impact on function.

@millworkman, we dont want to have to move out for 3 days again. Too many animals! we can maybe do waterbased stain.

@Norwood Architects, it goes from dining/kitchen to living room.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting, we may have to go with that using a water based stain ao we dont have to move out.

I would do something really simple, and more tailored - I stay away from looped rugs bc my dog’s nails snag them when he’s rolling around

Water based stain requires more coats and drying time. You're better off installing a prefinished floor. These have a square edge, no micro bevel.
