But….I’ve come across a few things that could be nice holiday gifts.

I was out for small business Saturday but bought only gift cards-- all for locally owned restaurants and a very cool bread/pastry shop. I usually make more stops but the niece who was my driver this year isnt into shopping so I didnt drag her into stores. I support the local stores all year round so I dont feel too bad about missing them yesterday.

Someone in my life needs the Nap sweatshirt! LOLMaybe all of us!

odd. i dont think it varied with color or size, either

There is a coupon code (cyber ) that adds onto the site discount … but i thought it was only 10%

You can always call for a price adjustment.

No code involved. They just like me better I guess

For a stocking stuffer, I love these!

    Lots of different options

Eld, someone gave me one last year! It looks precarious up there but it has never fallen off.

While they are magnets, and should stay, I glued mine just in case.

I am working on my list for Secret Santa. We decided every one gets something old, something new, something borrowed and something also new LOL.

Here is something I came across. For an item I carry daily, I think I will really appreciate these features. Washable, too. It comes in 4 sizes but I only need/want a small one for my bag.

@Sueb20 how does the sizing run? It would be perfect for my daughter who is the queen of naps. The pink is only available is S (and smaller). The blue is available in larger sizes. My DD is a small, but I usually like to get sweatshirts a size or two up unless they run oversize.

Also, just read the reviews and many say the neck hole is ridiculously small. Did you find that to be true?

It runs big. The M is definitely like a L. Here I am, bedhead and all, trying it on this morning. DH thought it was funny so he took a pic and sent it to the kids. I really should have gotten a S, but I am keeping the M.

I saw that comment about the neck, too. The neck is normal size!

Thanks, Sue. Ordered a small for my DD. If nothing else, she's going to get a good laugh.

I wasnt sure about the mens sizes ... but I did order socks for stockings.

hmmm houzz acting all looney again. I posted about an hour or two ago-thank you for all discussing that NAP sweatshirt. It's on the way. in Blue. $20.40 shipped.

Omg that is whacky. NYT just had a piece about dynamic pricing

    last modified: 3 days ago

The cyber monday sale is over ... it had a published end date so that isnt the same as dynamic pricing (though I guess they could do that as well. No experience)

Still .. bummer, Sue! I bet they run more sales in the coming weeks.

    Whoa! That’s crazy Sueb20

It would have gotten a good laugh in our family bc DS falls asleep at the drop of a hat, but not for $70.

ordered these for a friend that loves gardening

What a good friend you are, a friend who listens and knows their hobby. She is lucky to have you! The note cards are beautiful.

Along the same lines…how cute are these??

Ha! Since we all bought out the pink and blue Nap sweatshirts, Gap has now added a third color: red. I quickly snapped it up for DS, not quite the bargain some others have gotten, but I think I paid about $35 between the sale and some ”rewards” dollars.

    Now that’s a determined mom!

  • yesterday

LOL, I wasn’t looking! I was looking for new dress shirts for older DS, who got a new job yesterday (woohoo! he was laid off in July thanks to a certain administration’s cuts), and there was that sweatshirt, waving at me.

  • yesterday

    Congratulations on DS new job

Ohhh.. great news! Congrats to DS!

I am not buying one more thing until I get what I have unboxed, organized and wrapped. I have a ridiculous pile to get through ... tomorrow.

  • yesterday

I am ready for holidays, wrapped and ready to celebrate. But you faux friends keep pulling me in with all the good finds😂
And now I am considering a 800 gram challenge diet 😆 I got to get off these boards, but I keep getting pulled in😆 I love the fashion show every morning 😁 I just can’t keep away😂

This fuzz trimmer is amazing. I use it for my wool throws.

That's awesome -- I am not even close. It has been a rough week and I am going out tonight no matter how high the pile of boxes!

I am mostly done shopping -- I still need a gift for the 4 month baby.. and one of my BILs. Also some gift cards and a trip to the state store. It's the wrapping and organizing for transport that looms ahead.

ETA .. oh we are very real, my friend! Are you joining the GTG in PA?

  • yesterday

I did not….. I have been on this board a long time, but not with this group. So I hesitated and may have lost out. Sounds like all plans are in place and most already know each other for years. I may be the odd man out 🤷‍♀️

  • yesterday

I cant speak for the organizers but I havent committed as yet-- and I dont have a reservation. I have a lot going on in the spring and I don't know that the dates will work as yet. I only "know" people from here. The only person I have met from the board hasnt posted here in years!

And FWIW, I am odd! And that won't change after I meet you all! LOL

The boxes have started arriving but I still have shopping to do; since we did not pick Secret Santas until ThxG i need to do that shopping. My shopping heretofore is from the "real" Santa.

DDs asked if we will have a "wrapping station available" so I need to go stock that. Also considering doing our tree in blue and green only, so I may want to buy new ribbon for that.

Our little town has a vintage jewelry store that I want to check out, too, as I decide on the girls' annual jewelry gift.

@njmomma, many of us have known each other for years, true - but by no means all. And some of us have met - but by no means all. If interested, you can email me at MtnRdRedux@gmail.com.

*** Random Tulipmania Reminder**** : three people have not yet replied to my November 23 email. If that is you, please take a look at your in box and confirm that you received the email and, specifically, that you will attend the dinner. I need to send in the deposit so want a committed headcount. Thx!

I will not name names but their noms de plumes rhyme with JingleBell, Bubble Bath, and Angelic.

@njmomma, this will be the first one of these I have attended, so you will not be alone in the corner. I have only met one person from here…a lovely visit and lunch with 3katz who came through here a couple of years ago.

Mtn, that captures my current mood perfectly.

On the topic of the GTG, I had only met Mtn and kswl (and I had to go all the way to Seattle to find Mtn). I felt equal parts brave and crazy to get on a flight to TX to spend a few days with strangers, but it was so fun and I left feeling like I had a bunch of new ”real” friends and looking forward to the next time! I had never done anything like that before and I still have trouble trying to explain it to non-GW people, lol. I have only driven 6 hours on my own once before and the fact that I’m willing to do it again says a lot!

If Funky says she’s not coming, I am going to add even more time to my drive to go and drag her into my car and bring her with me.

Do you think these are "salmon" colored?

My DS and I were talking about how young men wear shorts all the time -- even in snow. It's a thing. He told me that his school had an Insta account called "Salmon Shorts at ______ U." that was nothing but pics of male students in salmon colored shorts (often in winter).

I want to get him a pair, but not sure he's really want them or if it will be more of a gag gift, so I liked these for only $29, marked down from $90. He might wear them for golf or when we go to the Caribbean this winter.

Would he be more likely to wear these?

Mtn - I would call those shorts salmon, but I prefer pink/salmon shorts that look more like Nantucket Reds.

That is the name! I kept thinking Yankee red!

    @Sueb20

IDK, my DH won't even buy tupperware with red lids, so legendary is my aversion. But that is a more masculine color I agree. It will prob depend on what his GF thinks.

Fun gag gift that can certainly turn useful in the Caribbean.
