My mother had Tecomaria capensis, of the same family Bignoniaceae as Tecoma, and it was a struggle to control in her SoCal beach climate — Channel Islands Marina, Oxnard.

Interesting, Nancy. Thanks for sharing that. It seems to be a very tough plant. The one in the photo popped up at the site of one of So. Calif's January fires. I guess it's pretty but best avoided.
