We had a problem with that long ago, in the City Park. I don't understand people.

Oakland, sadly nowadays, suffers from a declining reputation. Short of putting a garden inside a walled and manned enclosure, this sort of misery happens. So sorry for the folks who have worked to make this a very nice garden.

That's so incredibly sad.

Many years ago, I helped our high school's horticulture class establish a new rose garden, advising the teacher, and donating many roses. Mother's Day weekend of the year they planted it, someone came in and dug out 75% of the roses. At least in that case, they wanted the roses. This seems to be sheer vandalism. I'd like to say unbelievable, but...

I visit this garden often during the summer and am so pissed off by this. I'm an Oaklander and I hate what this city is turning into. I will also be donating and helping as much as I can, but what's to prevent it from happening in the future? Not like the City cares...
