Where is the "central dining area" and where in the "central dining area" will the beams go?

Sorry if that wasn’t clear. The livingroom is on right and hallway enters to dining. Beams overhead width of hallway.

Ikea Vedhamn cabinets are European Oak. Better than domestic White Oak which can only be used in expensive rift or quartersawn configuration. Ikea cabs use one of the other 300 varieties of oak without the open grain. They're made in Hungary.

Glulams are skinnable in a wood to match what you prefer.

Pretty happy with our plans thanks. Just a suggestion for the “Pros” out there. Don’t be an arrogant jerk. It will harm your business in the long run. Not too mention your personal relationships. Hope this helps.
