Yellow Daylilies of 2025

Post your photos of yellow and yellow gold daylilies here. There is no limit on the number of photos you post. Seedling photos are welcome, along with your registered cultivars. Our next color will be red on Monday.

Bill Norris is an oldie but goodie.

Conspiracy Theory was my best performing yellow.

Destined to See X Green Mystique also had a good number of buds.

Empire of Desire, which was planted the previous November, was short on scapes and buds.

Miss Goldie Gold Digger

Victorian Garden Emerald Breeze did well for one planted so late in the fall.

I know you aren't a huge yellow fan, but you have a very nice selection that should compliment all your other colors very well. I like your seedling in particular. I ran across an old picture of Green Mystique and remembered what a good daylily it was for me in the early days. I hope it passed all that "good stuff" on to this seedling........Today I finally got the last of my daylilies pots to their winter home. I gifted ten of them this fall but think they have multiplied behind my back since then- lol...........Should have more time tomorrow to post.............Maryl

My yellow daylilies seem to be the best performers overall.

Techny Spider took a long time to get established.

Solar Blast is a good early performer, fewer blooms last season.

Simplicity in Motion, I cant say enough good things about this daylily, love it.

Siloam Double Delight has been here over 20 years and shared.

    Mary Todd….reliable.

Lemon Strawberry Twist is a recent addition. It’s tall and a good performer so far.

Juty’s Outis fairly new here, didnt do as well last season.

Going Bananas, slow to establish, did well last season when other earlies suffered a bit.

Coyote Moon, a wonderful daylily. Small blooms but lots of them, fairly tall.

Buttered Popcorn blooms in the shade.

I tried this fall to get Bill Norris after seeing Debra's photos but no luck so I chose Elevated Manners which has settled in nicely here but no pic this year but perhaps next season.

Brad: Lots of people like that Green Inferno. It looks good for you too........Sherry: You know I'm partial to Mary Todd. I grew it here before one of the big downsizes. I like the Siloam Double Delight too. Nice shade of yellow. Here are my yellows.

This is my favorite yellow. Some of the blooms have reached 7 1/2 inches. Does well in the heat.

    Lisa Apps Sybrandt:

One of my favorite daylilies is Buzz Saw. It's almost always white in our heat. I liked it so much that I tracked down one of it's children Heavenly Spinosaurus. It stays more yellow so I've placed it here.

But as the sun intensifies, it will start fading to the whiter side (not as white as its parent Buzz Saw). Normally faders are gone from my garden, but this later stage color is still very pretty in my eyes.

    Heavenly Spinosaurus late afternoon:

Golly, I've had this evergreen for years. Not hardy so needs garaged over winter. Still it can produce some of the best formed doubles I've ever grown. Plus it's yellow. I like yellow.

    Dutch Yellow Truffle:

Another one I've grown forever. Always interesting shades of color depending on the weather. Sometimes more polychrome, sometimes more green, always good form and large blooms.

This is it with Helen Reynolds:

    Sour Puss:

Stalwart grower. Reliable bloomer. Pretty, warm shade of yellow

    Avon Sunrise:

I think I've got about 3 daylilies now that are not full faced. This is the one that broke my reservations about UFs, What a nice bloom. Sturdy petals that do not flop and have good substance with symmetrical form. Has that green tinge I like so much. Early bloomer.

    Rudy's Sister:

This is a Tanner daylily that has stolen my heart. Prolific bloomer with nice shading of the color depending on the weather, but always stable base color:

    Snows Lake Crazy:

Debra, your seedling is very pretty! I also like Bill Norris (a great grower in our garden), Green Inferno, and Heavenly Spinosaurus.

Golden Glitz is a great addition to the late garden.

I really need to get a clump photo of Little Lemon Twist.

I normally crop my photos, but I didn't on this one to show the absolutely black scapes of Vader's Choice.

This is a noid that is growing in a clump of Roy Likes 'Em Hot, which was hybridized by Sandy Holmes. We got Roy from Sandy and figures this one just hitched a ride. We asked her and she said it is probably Columbus Garden Elf.

    That's all for me.

Julia - If you still want Bill Norris, I can send you a start in the Spring.

Maryl - Lisa Apps Sybrandt always does so well for you. I didn't know the blooms were so large! Heavenly Spinosaurus looks like a good one! Snows Lake Crazies is one I had considered adding.

Other yellows I like here are Simplicity in Motion and Desert Icicle.
