for a change, i'm not posting a dog picture although i think this creature had some dog dna in him. this is ralph, a brittle starfish that lived for years in my reef tank. i fed him pieces of raw seafood once a day and when i put my hand in the tank, he would curl his legs around my fingers while he ate. it was creepy at first but i got used to his persistence. if a brainless (literally) critter can have a personality, ralph certainly did! he grew from a tiny blob into a sizable guy. his central disk was the size of a silver dollar and each arm was about 8" long.

My friend made this wreath that I have on my front door.

In looking through my photos this morning I counted only 23 photos taken since October 1st. Of those, 14 were of our new puppy. So, it’s a puppy picture today.
