Spotted, Streaked, or Edge-No-Eyes 2025

Show your daylilies that are spotted, streaked, or have edges without eyes. As always, seedling pictures are welcome. The next category on Wednesday will be unusual colors, color changers, or polychromes.

I no longer have any daylilies that fit in this category. One of my favorite edge-no-eyes in past years was Linda Gluck.

Linda Gluck is very pretty.

Here is what we have.

She's Got the Look is a great example of edge no eye.

Spots and Stripes is just ugly in my opinion. We keep it because it may be useful for breeding striped dips.

I thought Sunny with a Chance of Wine was dead last spring, but it pulled through.

Richard J Howard bloomed for the first time last year. It is an offspring of Explosion in the Paint Factory, but I think it is a prettier color.

You have to look closely to see the stripes on Ruby Stripes.

This was sent to us as an unnamed seedling. We don't know if it is dip or tet, but we guessed dip and did get some seeds from it.

This is one of our own seedlings--Toothy Perfection X Panning for Gold. We purchased this seed.

I only have two no eye with edge. I really dont like the streaked daylilies. They look diseased to my eye.

Fancy Buttons just got moved to a better location.

Forsyth Flaming Snow needs to improve to remain here. I will be patient this time, love the bloom.

Here are my contributions:

EXPLOSION IN THE PAINT FACTORY: I really don't like the look of these blooms, but it will stay in the garden as a specimen. I think back in the day when I first got into daylilies, this would have been composted.

SUNNY WITH A CHANCE OF WINE: This was taken at Cottage Gardens. Brent had many in this color range and I think if you have seen one you have seen them all. I prefer STRIPE THE TOWN. Good thing there are so many options.

David, I like all three of your edged-no-eye daylilies. I'm not really into the streaked or spotted, etc. Stripe the Town is not bad, but overall they look defective like they need composted!
