Help with Teen girls room layout and design

last month

I have attached the layout. Her room is not big. She wants boho/coastal theme. She currently has a loft bed that she wants to get rid of and have a full bed. Definitely needs a vanity too. Any design or layout advice?!

I would place the bed along the 12' wall... while standing in the doorway I like to see the bed in the room. is there room at the foot of the bed for a vanity, wall mounted mirror and wall hooks, Decor, etc. a tall chest of drawers in either outside corner by the window, a comfy upholstered chair in the other corner near the window for natural reading light.

This is what it has looked like at various stages of life.

First was suppose to be a video

There are no videos on this site. My two teen girls have similar sized rooms. One has a twin and the other a queen. I prefer the one with the queen but they also have much more minimal taste overall. For us we have always focused on them being able to change art, curtains, bedding but left the walls neutral. Are you getting all new furniture or keeping anything?

All new furniture. Def minimalist boho/coastal vibe.

The white bed frame could be salvaged. Could go well. I would look at Houzz and find pics tust work for you and your daughter.

Thanks! Def looking for more layout inspo. We. Have an idea of decor we like.

Where the bed currently appears to be is what makes sense. Dresser at the end and a night stand beside bed.

The way you've had the bed previously is the best layout for the small room. As WestCoast Hopeful mentions, the white bed frame could be reused and can be used for the new theme noted.

So to me boho is never minimal but here goes boho/ coastal bedroom is this what she has in her head ?

Is she 13 or 18 big difference in needs. Does she have her own bathroom? I ask becuse the room is not huge and usually closet space is abig deal for teen ggirls so a vanity might work in the bathroom . The drawing looks like there is a closet in the hall might be nice to ipen that wall and do a nice walkin closet then it frees up space for maybe even queen bed and still have a good space for a chair etc .I need pics of the room as it is now since I do not see a loft bed in the pics you posted

Where is the loft bed ? You can get them in a queen they just seem so great to me in small spaces she could even do her vanity inder there and take up no extra spce

Honestly the bed there is perfect as is the dresser and chair. Get her some new bedding and curtains and a new picture/art above the bed, add in blues and greens.

What furniture does SHE want in addition to a bed and dresser? Does your surfer girl want a place to sit and put on makeup (I honestly don't know any girls that have vanities in their rooms), in need of a desk, bookshelves, wallspace to hang things? Does she sit on her bed with friends? Would she like big floor pillows to hang out on? Would a bed with storage be helpful?

This West Elm bed is really fun for a teenager. I don't think it would matter that it might cover part of the bottom of the window. There is storage in it too. By putting a bed in the far corner, you will free up more floor space too.

Both of my girls use their desk as a vanity and have a large mirror, light, and all their make up and face stuff there. One uses it also as a desk but that is new this year in university

I would paint her current bed blue like this.

The right mural can make the room feel “coastal”. Here is a great example. I don’t know if this is wallpaper, a mural or a custom paint job, but it sure feels very Nantucket to me.

I suggest NaturalLife for boho bedding -- you can get mix-n-match sheets, etc., in a lot of fun colors and patterns.

Agree that bed on right wall offers the most options, but I'd slide it into the corner to make more room on floor, for nightstand, and for any other piece she might want (desk, vanity). Meantime, a bunch of floor pillows would be good, and could double as backrests for sitting on the bed.
