Dendrobium kingianum (Australian Pink Rock Orchid)

When I lived in Aus., I tried several times to grow this, but only ever succeded in killing them.

In mid '23 when I visited Glendurgan Gardens, Cornwall, I spotted a nice specimen growing, outdoors, on an old Dicksonia antarcticum.

So, I decided to have another go, and at the enf of '23 I got this specimen.

During the following year it put on quite a few new canes and at the end of the year, it rewarded me with a really nice display.

This year it put on another 5 canes.

According to everything I could find online, the canes only ever flower once.

A while ago I noticed shoots starting on both the new canes and most of the ones that flowered last winter.

One of the new canes has opened the first blooms, but ALL the shoots, even on the ones that have flowered, are flower shoots.

Whats going on?
