No way of knowing as this could be photoshop and not a real renovation. The picture does not even look like metal but a texture type finish.

Brass requires polishing to stay shiny.

It might be rel but probably not . could be brass since so much in the space but for sure a big committment to keep clean if real

Probably some type of "gold" veneer, but I think it cheapens the look of that otherwise nice kitchen.

I did an antique bronze metal hood in my previous kitchen, custom from Modern-aire. We only lived with it for 2 years before we decided to sell, so I can't say how the finish looked after long term use and cleaning.

@dan1888, thank you for the close up photo. It may be some sort of paint; it reminds me of sponge painting that we did in the 90s : )

It looks like a synthetic ash burl to me (these are made for a leathered look for certain automotive interior features). If I were doing this, I would use a real Ash burl.

It turns out it is a painted faux finish done with metallic paint!

It’s too shallow and dysfunctional no matter what type of plastic laminate it is.

Whatever it is, it doesn't look good with the cabinets.

I agree whatever it is it does not work at all with the cabinets could be a paint match thta failed but not good.
