for wood working and finishing pros….yellowing top coat

last month

Hi, would love to have this answered by a pro, is it the oil based top cost that is responsible for the yellowing or is it oil based stains as well? I found a stain formula that looks amazing, verathane aged wheat and antique white to use on my white oak, but I do not want any yellowing, Iam trying to cancel out the yellow and pink. So thought, could Inuse that stain combo, it only comes in oil based and then let cure for 72 hrs and then use General Finshes water based Matt top coat?
