botanical wallpaper in powder room

I need to refresh this powder room. I don’t want to change the wall color but I was thinking about saturating the trim in the same color. Then removing the paneling on the wall and putting up a moody wallpaper that’s black, burgundy and pops of white. I’m not sure if this would look good especially since I don’t have the budget to change the floor or fixtures.what do you think?

so wallpaper where the wainscoting is?

if it were me, I’d update the mirror and sconce and remove the small floating shelves (I’d also replace the print but art is personal taste)

Painting is a very easy solution. Would suggest that you paint the wainscot the color of the walls and then wallpaper the top half of the wall.

Makes NO sense?, help me here.....

First, we can't see what wallpaper you are considering.

The panoramic and distorted pic isn't helping

You paper ABOVE wainscoting, and move the deep plum wall color to below the paper, There is NO . need to remove wainscoting/paneling, and you paint it in the wall color you want IN a satin finish .

Not the best mirror for the space perhaps, not the best light, and I would lose the floating shelves.

If you have some wallpaper in mind that you love, you could replace the art with a framed section of it.

@JAN MOYER, link to the wallpaper is at the end of OP's post. Just click on it—or copy and paste it into your web browser's address window. I agree that the distortion in the pic isn't super helpful.

@William Whitty, I think that wallpaper is stunning. It would look great whether you remove the wainscoting and paper the whole wall, or just paper above the wainscoting, though you might consider painting the wainscoting a different color; a dark green or a dark rusty red.

On the other hand—the baseboards are bright white in the first Etsy pic, and the two look just fine together, so maybe it would work with the wainscoting in white.

Have you ordered a sample of the paper? 13"x9" isn't awfully big, but even so, I recommend you do, and put it up on each of your walls in turn to see if you like it as much in person as you do on your computer monitor.

The paper would be too dark for me in a powder room (I like a lot of light), but I think I'm swimming against the tide in that respect. And I can certainly see why you like it.

I'd put it just above the wainscoting, paint color below on the wainscoting.: ) Less paper, less busy ans not removal of a perfectly fine detail

Assuming you love the paper : )

Good point to have wallpaper just above the railing.

Paper the ceiling and dark painted area with the adorable paper you linked to. Paint the wainscoting a complimentary dark color.
